About me

My name is Anya Lothrop. I was born in the USA, but grew up in Germany. Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved being creative. Sometimes I wish the days had 48 hours so that I could fit in all the things I want to do: paint, draw, sew, quilt, knit, crochet, write, and tangle!

In 2013 I was looking for new quilting patterns on the internet. I didn’t really find any nice ones, but I did find Zentangle. I was immediately hooked and nine months later I was on my way to Providence, Rhode Island to become Germany’s first Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT). I have since written three books on Zentangle.

I have a masters degree in social anthropology and I love travelling to different countries. As a Peace Corps volunteer, I lived in Africa for a while. I’ve also taught German, English and even Swahili. More recently, I’ve been working as a free-lance editor under the name “The Editorat“.

Welcome to the wonderfully international Zentangle family!
